I first became interested in Celtic art when I saw slides of the Book of Kells in one of my history classes. I love the intricacy of the knotwork and the fantastic images of animals and people. Ever since, I have used Celtic imagery in my artwork.

My passion is for the history of Celtic art and the origins of the designs. I am not linked with any Gothic or New Age beliefs and do not endorse them in my work. Though Celtic designs are often associated with these ideas, that is not the true origination of the style. Knotwork was perfected by the Irish monks during the Middle Ages as they decorated copies of the Bible and other writings. This is the work I use for my inspiration.
